I always enjoy the opportunity to share this idea with someone else.
Not only because I've invested so much time into it, but because I believe the potential ripple effect can make a significant difference in a lot of lives.
From a young age I admired entrepreneurs and their ability to create value where there appeared to be nothing -- the greatest separator being how an entrepreneur thinks.
And as I began studying entrepreneurs and launching businesses of my own, I read everything I could get my hands on.
So books, combined with real-world experience, enhanced my understanding of subjects while providing context for the situations I encountered.
Ultimately, books developed me into a better entrepreneur.
I added every book recommended to me to an ongoing list until one day, my list grew to over 1,000 books -- yup, 1,000.
I stopped and thought three things:
- There was no way I could read all of these books and build a company in the same lifetime.
- Not every one of these books could be that good.
- And ... perhaps most important, what books were the most relevant for me in my current phase of entrepreneurship?
And so began the design process of what would become Readar: helping entrepreneurs find the right book to read next.
