As a Christian, I believe everyone has been endowed with the seeds of greatness — that you were created in God's image and have all the potential inside of you to do great things in the pursuit of glorifying Him and serving your fellow man.

There's plenty I've worked on, and plan to work on, but why I do anything at all comes from one place:

• To influence others so that more people take initiative.

Because a lot of the time, even with all that greatness inside, people tend to get in their own way. And all it takes is a little encouragement, a nudge, or a push (or even the occasional shove) to get things going.

If you're like me, you would have liked for someone to help you along the way. So my intent is to lower the learning curve from where you are to where you want to go — even if we never meet in person.

From a young age I admired entrepreneurs and their ability to create value where there appeared to be nothing — the greatest separator being how an entrepreneur thinks.

As I began studying entrepreneurs and launching businesses of my own, I read everything I could get my hands on. Books, combined with real-world experience, developed me into a better entrepreneur.

I added every book recommended to me to an ongoing list until one day it grew to over 1,000 books. I stopped and thought three things:

• There was no way I could read all of these books and build a company in the same lifetime.
• Not every one of these books could be that good.
• And — perhaps most important — which books were the most relevant for me in my current phase of entrepreneurship?

And so began the design process of what would become Readar: helping entrepreneurs find the right book to read next.
